Menopause is a natural biological process that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years. It typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, and is characterised by a decrease in oestrogen production. Menopause can cause a variety of physical and emotional symptoms, including:
Hot flashes: Sudden feeling of warmth and heat, often accompanied by sweating and a rapid heartbeat.
Night sweats: Similar to hot flashes, but occur during the night and can disrupt sleep.
Irregular periods: Menstrual cycles become unpredictable, and periods may become lighter or heavier than usual.
Vaginal dryness: Reduced oestrogen levels can cause vaginal tissue to become dry, which may cause discomfort during sex.
Mood changes: Fluctuating hormone levels can cause irritability, anxiety, and depression.
Sleep problems: Insomnia or difficulty falling asleep may occur.
Weight gain: Changes in hormone levels can cause weight gain, especially around the waist.
Loss of bone density: Lower oestrogen levels can lead to a loss of bone density and an increased risk of osteoporosis.
Decreased libido: Lower levels of oestrogen can reduce sex drive.
Dry skin and hair: Reduced oestrogen levels can cause changes in skin and hair texture, leading to dryness and brittleness.
Do any these seems familiar, you are not alone I know I am struggling with at least 4 of the above.
